Q: What is is the disadvantage of using a template?
A: You can purchase web templates free or at a low-price, however these templates are NOT unique. Several companies may have already bought or downloaded the same template that you have also chosen. If you cannot change the colors or layout of the template, your site looks like a clone of several other websites. If you want a licensed template only for you, you will need to spend a fortune to purchase it. Templates do not look good if you stretch them to fit your desired needs. For example, if there is space for 100 words in a block and you try to insert 200 words in that space, the template layout will change. This may not look good or professional. Templates puts limitations on the amount of text you can place in a web page, thereby restricting you from optimizing text or being descriptive about your business. It is well known that the more verbose your website provides in a page, the more attention it will get from the search engines. A template does not come with Meta tags which means you will have to insert these Meta tags on your own. Templates are good for static pages. If a site needs dynamic pages with a huge database to be built, you need to opt for a custom design website. Caught in the Web can provide you with all your needs with no limitations.
